The 96 needle Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller is twice as wide as the 48 needle version allowing the user to treat twice the area of skin in half the amount of time. The roller was designed for needling larger areas of skin such as the scalp and stretch marks but can still be used on the face to roll acne scars, indented scars, advanced sun damage and aging skin.
The Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller is constructed using 96 of the finest quality stainless steel needles (length 0.3mm, gauge 0.25mm) mounted in the highest quality plastic autoclavable (resistant to 134ºC temperatures) rollers and handle. The Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller was designed to be reused, other rollers on the market are disposable (read the fine print). Used daily and cared for as directed your Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller will last for 12 months.
The Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller creates micro punctures stimulating the human bodies natural wound healing response. One of the benefits of this response is collagen induction, where the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated and your acne scars/pock marks are infilled naturally.
The Clearskincare Roller range was developed by Dr McCaffery after 2 years research, design and patient trials to perform skin needling. The Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller also creates micro channels that significantly increase the absorption of creams and serums. Creams and serums are applied after rolling.
One of the biggest advantages of skin needling over other techniques such as laser resurfacing and procedural microdermabrasion is its safety. no pain, the Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller is painless, a moderate to strong prickling sensation is experienced when using and for approximately 5-10 minutes after use. The duration of this prickling sensation decreases as you establish your skin needling routine;
the micropunctures created by the roller needles do not compromise the epidermis, in fact there is complete preservation of the epidermis during the rolling procedure, therefore there is no permanent damage to the skin, no pain, no bleeding, no risk of infection, discoloration such as hypo or hyperpigmentation;
there is no reddening of the skin, scabbing or grazing from using the Clearskincare & Scalp Roller;
no down time for healing, the client can carry on with normal day to day activities immediately after performing the rolling procedure with the Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller; and
there is no damage to any of the structures below the skin. Micropunctures created pierce only the upper dermis. Therefore, there rolling cannot damage any of the structures that lie in the mid dermis and below.
The Clearskincare Skin Roller range was designed by Dr McCaffery to maximise results for improving the appearance of indented scars, lines, wrinkles and stretchmarks as well as thinning hair whilst minimising downtime and pain, hence the selected needle lengths of the homecare rollers of 0.75mm (Skin & Scalp Roller) and 0.3mm (Face Roller). Other rollers available were designed by engineers who have no medical background, or understanding of scar, anti ageing skin treatment or any understanding of human anatomy, hence their ineffective generic choices of needle lengths (0.25mm, 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2.5mm etc).
Results vary from person to person and the duration of your skin needling programme is dependent on the severity, depth and extent of the scarring and the speed of the users personal wound healing response. Every person who has undertaken skin needling has improved the appearance of their scars.
Your skin is naturally renewed every 40 days (1 cycle). Results will be noticeable from the Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller after 2 cycles (80 days). Significant results will be evident after 4-6 cycles. Rolling can be ceased when you feel that your scars have sufficiently filled in. Another benefit of skin needling is that your scars will continue to infill naturally for up to 12 months after you cease needling.
On clean dry skin apply the Skin & Scalp roller gently over the area to be treated, using a star shaped pattern roll each area back and forth 10-12 times. Lift the roller between rolls often, the aim of the procedure is to create the maximum number of micropunctures per area of skin being rolled. Divide your face into 6 areas - left & right forehead, left & right cheek/temple, left & right lower cheek/mouth/chin areas. Roll each area. Apply skincare products after rolling.
It should take you approximately 3-5 minutes to roll your whole face. Only ever use as much pressure as you feel comfortable with. You don’t have to be too fastidious, remember what you may miss tonight you will get tomorrow night.
